Earth Observation Data

Ibisa is a project of crop protection for smallholder farmers in developing countries.
The challenge of the project is to offer a very low-cost risk coverage (close to micro-insurance). Indeed, the risk premium used to define the business plan are around 10$ to 20$ per year, and Ibisa system take only 20% fee, so fee from 2$ to 3$ per year to manage each policy, including claim assessment.
To succeed in offering this low-cost loss assessment, Ibisa use earth observations. This avoid the need to go on the ground to analyse the reality of the loss, even if this introduce other problems, well known in parametric insurance.
Thus, Ibisa project need earth observation data, in an easy usable format.
